We think really highly of Mr. Matt Riley

[myspace]
Celine Carroll returned a compliment the other day when she tipped me off about a composer/singer/songwriter. Highlights from his CV include working as a session musician for The Spirits who agreed a record deal with Elton John’s Rocket Records. And one of his songs, Never Let You Go Again was written and performed for the film Barefooting. Nils Lofgren and Rory Gallagher are numbered amongst his musical influences and he’s got over 10 years experience in the music industry.
If the fact that he is a Liverpudlian isn’t enough proof of his musical pedigree, then let me just concur with Celine. He has just released his debut album, Standing On The Outside – and his name (again) is Matt Riley.

This is a fantasatic album, great Scouse pop but not at all parochial. Marvellous smile inducing guitar work. Stays strong to the end. What a Debut.
