Freshmen – You Never Heard Anything Like It – 1979

Freshmen “You Never Heard Anything Like It
Release Records – RL 975 – 1979
[mp3] [Irish Show Bands]

So Im too young to remember this from 1979 but we were playing it on the radio in 1986 (20 years ago this week) in memory of Big Beat Radio, Baldoyle’s 4th pirate radio station, and we thought we were first!. If you have a copy of this single – about 8 years ago Record Collector Magazine had it listed at £20. must have valued more since. I have a dusty 7″ copy somewhere.

A great song, the other side was “Bombing Run”. I’d like to hear that too. Thanks for putting it up.

A Corker! I’d begun to wonder if this record actually existed or if my memory was playing tricks.Great to hear it again.

  4. Mickey Dower Says:

John Peel had this record in his special box of 142 singles that meant something special to him

My cousin picked up this song from the radio here in Holland.
Somewhere in a special music shop in Cambridge I bought
the single and I played it everyday for over a year.
My student room was next to the bathroom and all my
housemates know “you’ll never heard anything” very, very
well. Especially, the surprisingly finish at the end.
It is an evergreen like narcotic from liquido which is
    nowhere for sale anymore…
I hope the Freshmen will be back, someday, somehow!
